The visualization of the calculated results can alternatively be done with 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 intervals or color levels. The arrangement of the colors corresponds to the logic of the solar spectrum. Cold colors usually correspond to similarity scores situated below the arithmetic mean of the respective similarity distribution, whereas warm colors correspond to scores that occur above it. Experience has shown that the most favorable results in terms of visual psychology are obtained at 6 colour levels or intervals. However, in special cases it is helpful to be able to visualize coarser (with 2 or 4 intervals / colors) or finer (with 8, 10 or 12 intervals / colors).
